YouTube hat im offiziellen Blog einige neue Funktionen für Livestreams auf der Video-Plattform vorgestellt. Eine der neuen Funktionen nennt sich „Chat Replay“ und zeigt Kommentare – auch beim späteren Betrachten eines (ursprünglichen) Live-Videos – nun synchronisiert zum Video an:
Today we are starting to roll out chat replay to YouTube, so you can follow the conversation even after a live stream is over. Live chat replays will show up alongside the video, exactly as it appeared live.
Eine weitere neue Funktion ist das automatische Untertiteln von (zunächst) englischsprachigen Livestreams. Ebenso können mobile Livestreams (und auch mobile Video-Uploads) nun mit Geotags versehen werden. Klicken Nutzer auf diese, können sie weitere Livestreams vom selben Standort finden und anschauen:
Creators can now add a location tag to their mobile live streams and video uploads and share all their favorite hot spots with viewers. You can explore other videos with the same location tag by simply clicking on it. You can also use the location filter on the search results page to find other videos from a specific spot.
Als letzte neue Funktion wurde das im vergangenen Jahr vorgestellte Super Chat-Feature weiter ausgebaut und unterstützt nun auch die Anbindung an mit dem Internet verbundene Geräte („Smart devices“).
